Tips for Trips (Part III)

Packing and Peparation

About a week ago, I got a ride with my two friends Lexie and Jessie for home--school-bound in Oxford, Mississippi. The weather back home in New Orleans, Louisiana, was moderately warm. (Why are we not suprised). Although, the day we were leaving New Orleans was when the weather started getting chilly. So mid-way through the car ride, Jessie checks her phone, and gives the weather report. Lexie quickly dubble checks her phone too. My phone doesn't have internet access, so I had no way of checking.
Jessie: Oh, my. God. GUYS it's going to be freezing in Oxford. [Reads the temperature]. Oh, and there's going to be a ninety percent chance of snow.
[Lexie and Jessie freeze as the the cold winter air has already passed over them.] Lexie and Jessie: IT'S GOING TO SNOW--WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO!? WE DON'T HAVE ANY CLOTHES!!
Staying a week in New Orleans where it's hot and humid for most the year, did not occur to us that it could be cold elsewhere and packing winter gear would be wise. Thankful I did not bring home many clothes, and gave Lexia and Jessie the offer of barrowing anything if needed.

So word of advice: Always check the weather (if you can) and make sure you come prepared. You never know how bipolar the weather can be. And who knows what life will throw at us.
